hi mali and mick, well the plans are well advanced....most of the mechanical bits have been found....from europe mostly, and i have the car running ok, i went today to see my blaster man, the car will be totaly stripped and jig mounted for a full grit blast by a classic car restorer, meanwhile i will restore the mechanical parts, it goes in in feb, he's doin a porsche at the moment..

im still looking for floor sections and front wheelwell repair panel.....i will fabricate locally if nothing turns up.

its a '66 843cc coupe...twin choke weber carb with 4 branch exhaust as standard...about 40+ bhp but i will mod it slightly though! to start with im going to have an 'abarth' front suspension block for the transverse leafspring made here, that will drop the nose up to 40mm....and i'll do the 126 trick for negative camber up front as well....its kinda like a sporty 126 with 40 bhp and disc brakes from the factory ...........  :D

thank you, it seems the 850 was popular in Germany, I have managed to get most suspension bushes etc for German Ebay, the listings for the 850 range are always long and full of usefull bits.

(actually, looking at the wishbone bushes they seem the same as 126.....in fact the whole front suspension is close....has anyone tried 850 sport kingpins/disc brakes on their 126?, my old 126 conversion used 850 sport discs....)

do you have any pictures of your old coupe?

let me know when your in town tomasz...there are no 126's here to my knowledge, and very few 500's, but you will see the odd 600 running around, ive never seen so many 600/600d's anywhere else but italy !

you should have come to a ex-yugoslavian country, there were houndreds of thousands here driving around, but there are getting rarer, just like the 126. (its interesting how the prices of the 600 or zastava 750 have gone up to 1000€/1500€, while the 126 is still wery cheap... :( )

Gordon, these arent Zastava or other copies, these are Italian production 'real' 600(suicide door) and 600d's...all the Fiat's here are original imports from the time they were current models, large quantity imports of fiats stopped at 500r/127/128/131/132 model time, and have only just re started with the latest cars.

I kinda meant this is the most REAL Fiats I've sen since I was in Italy

Oh had an email tonight from a guy up north who has NOS bumpers/glass and other stuff for my coupe !!

oo cool, but zastavas arent that different from the fiat, the zavy 600 is actually a fiat with different badging.. now that you mention it, i dont think ive seen a fiat 600, ever, and ive been quite a few times to italy...
