Gordan:
My vote goes to Gadge, the best looking wheels of the bunch.
I on the other hand plan to keep it simple, respray the orig wheels and fit the medium plastic hubcaps, something like the aircooled cars had.

Those wheels will be up for sale soon as I’m planing on getting my steels powder coated :thumbup
I’m not sure why those wheels are rubbing though? The 165/5513 size has been tried so many times and on lowered or standard suspension so can’t see any reason why they won’t fit. The only thing I can think of is perhaps the arch is smaller? (Series 1 wings on a bis?)
EDIT sorry just re-read the earlier post i see your fitting 155s . I haven’t come across a 126 with 155/65s on as yet

They are 155/65 13, not 165/55. I'm now shopping for a set of 165/55.
DEYAN IYI:
Just realised that I am using now a friend's set of winter 145/70R13 over Panda rims. Comparing the diameter to 155/65R13, 145/70 is 2mm larger. I can't provide a pic at the moment, but there is a significant gap between the tyre and the fender.
Ricardo Regalo:
Hi,
mine is a aircooled from 1999, and don't know if this makes a difference, but I just installed some 145/70R13 on my rims with no problems on clearance. They are 5.5j. Actually I should have gone for the 155/65R13 which would look better (though I like the look with the ones I put on now). Both these sizes are very close to each other regarding diameter.
Don't understand why you are having problems with that tire size. I tried a 155/70R13 before on the front wheels and rubbed the inner linings on arches when turning. But I'm still considering that size for the rear wheels.
