Vw aircooled engine cylinders and pistons
« on: February 07, 2010, 06:12:53 PM »
I was just looking on eBay and there's some vw aircooled 1600cc engine cylinders and pistons for sale, it says that they would work as an upgrade to any 126 or 500. Is this really an upgrade alternative? If it is,  would it require any modification to install this on a 126 engine?

Its not a straight swap. The block needs a good bit of modification in order to fit the liners.
Take a look at this thread, it should give you all the info you need:

Have a read of this thread:

Not read it all but there appears to be a photographic diary of a 800cc conversion.
