Good evening
Need your help as regards the position if the flaps.
The car is in Malta, therefore the temperature is moderate in winter and hot in summer.
The enclosed photo shows the flaps of the 652cc engine but I do not know in which position they are. Are they in a cold or hot position?
Appreciate any fotos to show the open position of flaps
Many thanks

If the flap is closed it is cold, if it is open it is hot, you can lift the flap as far as it will go with your hand to see the position it should be in once it is hot.

Thanks for the reply.
Therefore from your feedback and the position the flap is, at coldstart, as per foto, it is open. This means it got stuck unless it was purposely set in this position by the previous owner.
Many thanks,

If it is in the position of the photo when cold, the thermostat needs a replacement. Prefer the newer type ( here is an attached picture). When fitting it, bend the rod to the flap till it is fully closed with no tension. The easiest way is to take the tin off.
Best!

hi mate did you replace it?

Hi, the flaps are open and the thermostat is disconnected. The weather in Malta is mild or hot, therefore no need of a thermostat at these temperatures. Thanks

Hi, I disengaged the hook from the thermostat then from the flips, reaching through the vents open position.
