well, that 10mm makes a difference, low speed testing today with new brakes(another story)....very sharp turn in and still good feel and lightness,an easy mod to do,and cannot wait to see what its llike pushing thro the curves!

Dave

Have you got any pics of your mods to the top links?

Did you use shims of the final adjustment?

hi nigel,i did not touch the factory shims,i made a simple jig that fits acuratly in the new uncruddy top link, then after filling (with weld) old holes, simply drilled new ACURATE holes 10mm in........so,everything should be still factory, but with 10mm added..........i think that is more than ok engineering for my modest BHP.....didnt take pics, too much greif loading on the site here for me!.
also means that original parts are there in case my theory goes pear shaped!!

the jig was just a bit of flat i had kicking around the workshop,10mm seems the max,the top link bows out to the body end so there is a limit to what you can do easily.....im impressed with the turn in tho!!!

well,....davys on the road again......as the song says...........,the neg camber is very good,......my favorite hill now is easier to climb, the front really sticks, really stays on line.........so far so good, nothing has broken............

this is coupled with neutral toe in/out at the mo(may go stock yet),and also lowered springs/cut down mounts/all new bushes/uprated shocks etc,i would'nt advise this with standard suspension parts......

when you described it Dave i thought it would look more drastic, looks like a nice little mod youve done there.

cheers dave, I'll order the Ferrari ones they are a bit cheaper. do they scew on from the outside, and will the original mounting holes posiiton suffice or do they bolt on from inside the door?

they are fixed from the outside, and cover the original holes, mine had the mirror bolt head showing at the front when installed,i plugged the hole with black silicon.....you'll see what i mean when you get them.mine might have had little plugs, but if so were missing.

the glass is adjustable inside the housing, the quater lights do obsure a little, but, hey, what price is cool?......................
