Steering idler fitted with "proper" bearings?
« on: July 16, 2019, 10:22:51 AM »
I read on a foreign website recently about a steering idler fitted with ball or roller bearings to replace the rubber bushes.
I think this sounds like a great idea to remove the friction of the rubber bushes & I was wondering if anyone had actually done this.

It is available for example here:

The only problem I see here is that the steering wheel would need a tough wrist, specially on high speed or bumpy road.

Yes, that's it - thanks.
It looks superb but look at the price......

I may get an old idler & make up my own.......

Just in case anyone is considering ordering one of these idlers I believe that they are for left hand drive 126's only. So check first.
