Title: Polski Fiat 126P Series 1 - changing wheels to 98 pcd
Post by: Kelso on August 14, 2019, 10:10:11 PM
I am repairing/restoring a Polski Fiat 126P in Cuba, where cars cannot be imported.
This is a major and expensive project, but is the only transport.

Original series 1 wheels are no longer available.
I am converting the front to disk brakes, which take 98 pcd wheels.
I have obtained a set of 12" steel 98 pcd wheels and rear drums for 98 pcd wheel bolts.

Do I need to change the rear brake plates which hold the brake shoes ?
My original Cuban Catalog and Price list from the 1970's shows two types, but I cannot make out if there is any difference.

Is there anything else I need to change?
Parts are simply not available out there, and ihave to sourve them in Europe and send them out.

I don't know the answer to your questions, but I believe you need 13" wheels to fit over disc brakes, not 12".
Good luck with your project.
