Rear Wheel Bearing Replacement
« on: July 09, 2018, 01:02:14 PM »
BIS Passed MOT, just an advisory on this, slight play. From first glance looks like a bigger job than the fronts. Kit is about £35.00

Any advice appreciated.

It all comes apart quite easy the only problem is that you need a good brake bar to crush the spacer  ;)

Thanks Pete.

Trying to get my head round this. So what's the removal method, as the manual isn't that clear.

Things to Disconnect the Drive Shaft, Undo the Nut at the end of the Wheel Shaft 6 and 9, Silent Block, Handbrake Cable,

Clamp the Brake Flexible Hose and Disconnect

Remove Brake Drum, Pull out the Wheel Shaft.

Undo the four bolts that hold the Back Plate and remove and the Bearing Carrier

Drift the Bearings out of the holder and Replace with the outer first - spacer - inner - Rebuild in reverse

Insert Shaft through new bearings - Rubber Connector and nut - tighten the nut until everything is flush

P.S. Take photos of the assembly before dismantling then you can compare when re-assembling.

If I've left anything out please add to this thread.
