Greetings from the Midlands
« on: June 25, 2019, 12:29:21 PM »
Hey there,

UK-based 126 fan looking for help regarding a big task.
My dad was born in the town where most Polski Fiat 126 were built until 2000, and for his 60th birthday I’d love to purchase and restore a 126p Air-Cooled model as we had one in the family when I was growing up.
If anyone knows of any good links for spare parts, cars in decent condition for sale or even meet-ups I’d love to get to know you all and hopefully I can share this story with you all.

Thanks for reading,
Si

Parts

You'll find a few things on eBay (LP Garage operates from there)
The only other UK shop is Ricambio.co.uk, but they're pretty expensive.

You'll find a big selection at cheaper prices from shops on the continent. Here are the ones I have found so far:

126fan
https://www.126fan.sk/eshop/index.php?main_page=index&language=en

Axel Gerstl
https://webshop.fiat500126.com/

Fiat Fischer
http://www.fiat500-fischer.de

Motozbyt
http://www.motozbyt.net/22-126p
http://www.motozbyt.net/32-126p-bis

F. D. Ricambi
https://www.fiat126ricambi.com

Günter Markoff

Regmot

Fiat Parts' Second Chance
https://fiatonderdeeltweedekans.nl/

Allegro.pl is the cheapest, but you'll need Google Translate and a few extra minutes to find your way about.

Piotross on these forums can also source parts if you need them to be official Fiat brand.

Cars for Sale
You can check the usual: ebay, carandclassic, autotrader
Since you're looking to buy a LHD your options are far greater and cheaper. You may even find it best to buy the car in Europe and drive it back!

Meet-ups
Check the Meetings board on these forums. I'm going to shamelessly mention this event:

Not far from you, within 2 weeks time and so far has been the largest gathering of 126s in the UK (although nothing compared to the amount you get at European meets)

Thanks Xylaquin!

Really useful links, definitely considering buying back in Poland for price

Has anyone done this on the forum? Purchased the vehicle in the mainland and then drove or shipped back to the uk?

Thanks for all your support with this epic quest!

Hi,
Yeah I did it a few years ago. Quiet a fun trip. Have a look through my post history, most details are here on the forum already.
