Ironicaly Tom's car had a mini seize a few weeks ago while thrashing it on a long trip – sounded like the sort of piston sieze I used to get on my 2stroke Lambretta – the car re-started and he completed his trip and the return but the pistons are now a little slappy when cold - bottom end is fine however.....

so, back to oil.....err I would still go with Magnatec, When I rebuilt my engine I ran in with a cheap 20/40 Comma oil for the first 1000 miles.

I use shell 10/40 semi-synthetic oil and so far no problems.
