My idea of negitive camber, pitty its only a mock up for now (on the front)

Before you guys go slagging off evereyone who dosent have the same tastes as you then maybe you ought to consider you own a FIAT 126! which 99% of people would consider one of the most 'plop' cars ever conceved!

Good point, but as 126 owners, we also know we are right

But seriously - wasn't refering to the taste issue, more that despite clearly having had a shed load of time and money spent on it, there's a basic issue with the arse end... and the clearance is about 1mm. Maybe I came over wrong.

If I had been commenting on taste I have used an even stronger word than "plop" (if I knew one) :???:

Im not a huge fan of it but it is a bloody good car, lots of skill involved and it looks totaly MAD! (thats the point) you will probably find its juiced too so if you want to drive it anywhere just raise it a touch and your off.

What i do know is negitive oppinions about other peoples cars are a bad thing. I dont think anyone has a totaly open mind and thats fine with me so if you dont like it then keep your mouth shut like i do (most of the time  ).

Ooops i'm upsetting people again!!! Must remember not to express any light hearted opinions about anything again for fear of causing offence. :smt005

I do hope that this does not turn into one of those pathetic forum tiffs that just serve to devalue a great site like this.

I am sure that the car is very clever and been built with lots of skill but in my opinion – if I am permitted to express one – it's very amusing, I feel sure that the owner must have a sense of humour, you would have to to spend a small fortune on something like that.

I have got used to people taking the piss out of me and my car, big fat bloke – tiny car, big farty noise (the car - well most of the time) big engine hanging half out the back. It's part of life, I suggest you get over yourself or take your own advice.xxxx

not keen on the car, car modification of that sort is becoming so common its nolonger stylish as it once was considered, its boring, i'd rather see something original or different in its own right. but as most here would agree the time and skill needed alone to do something like that is amazing.

the problem is why cant people slate each others cars, i wouldnt give a t@ss if someone slated my cars, i get it most days any way :D

Thats my oppinion i'll be at the uxbridge autoshow this sunday if anyone wants to fight me over my views

I just dont want this place to end up like most other 'one make' sites where everything other then the make in question is considerd 'plop' Everyone is narrow minded and doesnt take any inspiration from any other car scenes.

All the cars will end up looking crap and you wont be able to post a pic of anything differant for fear of it being ridiculed.

It all happens because people on the internet feel they can speak thier mind whenever the hell they like cous theres not someone standing their thats going to smack them one. If you went to a show and started walking around slagging off every car you dont like then i think you'd feel the conciquences pretty quick.

What this forum and the Fiat 126 in general needs is a big injection of alternitive influance. You should be looking at cars like that (and examples of other styles and makes) and taking a bit of inspiration from them then someone might attulay get on and build a decent 126!

yer i see what you are getting at now m8,

i would hate anyone "fearing" they would be ridiculed by what they post.

You are right though, the internet/forum causes a lot of problems, people become too confident with airing their views against other cars/makes/models/modification etc. However thats what a forum is for???? Sureley? Its all done in a light hearted manner, no serious slagging. If you dont want people to speak slater there isnt going to be any posts on here!!!!!

We have a decent 126's adding gull wings and crap to it isnt going to make the car any better?

but lets not make an issue out of this, please

lets just enjoy it all! :D :D

i noticed Michael's 248 has a fair bit front wheel negative camber, it seems to have more than most of the other cars as it seems this car is the one i noticed it on the most. also if you check out the tyres when he pits or at the end of the race the front tyres are worn a lot more on the inside edge.

slater, thats a lot of neg,im interested how you plan to achieve that, the most that can be achieved without some serious re engineering is 10mm at the top control arm............that looks good tho!!!!!

bruce, yes,an F1 car like shueys will run what ever is needed for lap times to drop...................im using the same logic.....im down to 90ish miles from a tank of super with lead added..........dont care.......cars running and sounding superb!!!! and if i can improve the feel of it thro 'fast' bumpy curves so much the better.......

everyone to their own,if you want tyres to last 30,000 miles and get 160ish+ from a tank of supermarket fuel,no problem as far as im concerned.
after all, thats what my pooter Bis is for................ :D

tbh i dont think i will have camber on the front, i was just messing about a bit. It could be done tho i think. Shorter top wishbone extra long bottom wishbone and move the shock top mount towards the centreline of the car.

What im relly planning to do is keep the wheels upright, fit skinnyest tyres i can get my hands on. Shorten the top wishbone about an inch, loose the leaf spring and mount a lower wishbone in its place, use coilover shocks with the shock mount raised about 5" inside the bonnet to stop them bottoming out.

Basicly its going to be a drag car but more for comic value then attualy going fast!
