Hello Gents,
My iBis has been off the road for over two years now and I haven't been in here much. Basically I reached the limitations of the software I had available at the time to deal with things like cold start and idle control.
What I would say to anyone embarking on EFI is first to get yourself a wide band lambda air fuel ratio meter. Probably about 150 quid if you go for something like an innovate system but if you are on a budget you should be able to find diy kits on the net to build your own circuit board and display which will be cheaper.
Then you really need to be able to tune it which means either an aftermarket motorsport type ECU, or build a megasquirt one.
Ideally any of this needs rolling road tuning but you will be surprised how good a job you can do with the wideband lambda and just driving it under different speed load conditions.
We are now working on a new project to put our fuel injection on a two cylinder utility engine and this has a lot of the added functionality that i didn't have available last time round, so I hope to redo the iBis and get ibacl on the road.
