Title: Our new green boiler.
Post by: 1973/126 on July 16, 2014, 07:48:19 AM
No, no we are not going all eco here, just purchased a green Bis yesterday. All my bad experiences with them and I still do it. First sign of overheating though and it will get a different engine :P
Got it delivered yesterday, but I won`t see it until next week as I`m still in Slovakia. Can`t wait. Looks like it needs some lowering on the front, but all in all it`s a solid car. It has a massive boom box instead of back seats, funky interior, only been painted green from the outside, x1/9 alloys. What`s not to like? ;D
 One small photo for now.

Can you fit a flat aircooled engine out of a 500 Estate into these?

Matt I`m pretty sure you could, but finding one at a reasonable price would be difficult. I`ve got few ideas though. We`ll see.

Thanks Garry. I think you need a lime green one in your fleet too just to make it complete, oh and a Black of course.

Very nice, if you don't want the wheels let me know :D. Or if the engine starts overheating send it my way, I want one to build up out the car!

Well finally back in the UK again so I had a chance to see the car for first time and do a bit of work on it. It isn`t as good as I thought, but I`ll work with what is there.
The sound system is coming out for sure. I guess it`s adding about 100kgs extra weight which I don`t need. Two big subs, 8 speakers, cd changer, two amps, just hoping all my electrics will work afterwards as it`s like spaghetti junction in there.
All the tyres are shot, so as a temporary option I`ll be using 12" ac steelies. Not a big fan of these alloys anyway.
I`ll also have to rebuild the suspension parts, so will be changing the rear arm for ac ones as I refuse to spend £50 each on bis shocks. Some lowering is on the cards too.
 Couple more pics for now.
 Watch this space ;D.

Yeah it is, but a bit silly in a 126. I might use some of the components in the van ;D
