Just thought i'd have my two penneth worth, people who own Fiat126's bought them for there quirkyness, character, and to drive something different. there not the most reliable cars on the road but we love them, there like our babies always wanting attention, which they need alot of, there are still some gems about in the u.k. for not alot of money as we've seen on ebay over the past months aircooled and bis's, and if you go to your local independant car shops (not the big ones) they can usually get the everyday running gear, points/plugs/condensers/fuel pumps/clutches/ brake shoes/drums and gasket sets usually cheaper than can be bought on ebay or the specialist who in my opinion are like car dealerships. they know how to charge for parts, unfortunatley they are the only source for the more obscure parts and then we have to pay through the nose, I have know problem with buying an imported lhd fiat126 but i will only pay what i think the car is worth (which would'tn be alot) and i'm buying it to keep and not to make a profit on, if you can make a profit on one.
if the trip goes ahead i would'nt mind going to bring back the hard to get i.e. suspension parts which cost an arm and a leg from the specialists.
Pete.
