I have a brand new set of spax adjustables I got for the Bis rear end which are real short and i mean real short in the body, they have pin tops and eye bottoms as per Bis rear arms and I have never used them as i went for Avo coilovers instead, so they are available
cheers Doug
hey stuey, got a question for ya, i see you closed up those holes in front of the windshield that suck in air for the interrior, so how does the interrior heater get air now. throw in some pics of the front boot if u have.. cheers..
G
LOOKS NICE!!!
but arent those tires a bit too large?? can you turn with them?
Looks really nice! I likw where you have located the rear number plate, wish i'd thought of that!
Great! Might get another rear panel weld the million and 1 holes up and get it painted to match!
Dont want to be a party pooper but do you have rego plate lights in the back..? MOT ring a bell  ?
Nice job mate, wery well done! You probably doing ewerythin id do to my bis, only in red:) another question for you... What about the engine guard/cover plastic that goes under the stock bumpers? do you intend to replace it with smthing or just leave it be like this? keep it up! youre a real inspiration...
my fog light is still clumsily attached to the body after my last mot! Phil said he was looking forward to seeing your car when its on the road.
I just got some cromodora cd9's which i have sprayed a dark silver. Will prob be getting a lower spring when some stuff has sold!
very pimp, what happens if they battery goes flat?
arrrggghhh never thought of that good idea :-) i thought you may have left the boot lock on. keep up the good work

26 bhp will struggle to create a burnout no?
Stuey thats lookin really nice... keep it up fella! :D
just a little question and i dont suppose any mot tester would ever spot it but is there a minimum height that an indicator must be for legal reasons?
very nice work. what pain did you use for the engin and box
I must say youve done an A+ job, what did you do to get your bellhousing so shiney???
If you use disc-brakes, you have to fit another part to have a crispy breaking. My English might decrease with the technical terms, so: Sorry.
If you use the better effect of the disc-brakes, the leave spring tilts and twists in it's gum pillows. The wheels drift backwards, and the geometry is misplaced. It's like stepping into pudding.
I fixed a rod with two ball joints, one at each end, between the heart-pin of the leaf spring and the middle longitudinal beam. This prevents the leave spring from tilting, but allows it to do its job.
Hope, this was kind of understandable...
Thats good news [-/ Better get my camera ready :P
just make sure its a continous weld you finish off with as i am sure you know already chap..
I am stupid but what is 'this'?
My god!! Are you mad?? Go for it mate, great looking lil BIS.
Me finks you need an exhaust like mine!!

I think you are right- you are the only one to say it!- where did you get your phat exhaust?
You're certainly doing a thorough job, that interior insulator stuff is a killer to remove. It really will be nice and tidy. :)Thanks! It's a pain to do but I just want it right- managed to clean it up with the knot brush today-
great thread and I now have loads of questions.

Feel free to ask!
I am totally embarrassed to say that I have a Mig welder and a hole in my floor about 4" square. I am avoiding welding the hole as I have never used a Mig welder (gas at school).
The car remains with no MOT as I am worried about 'melting the car'.
It will never reach 88.8mph.
with all that lead it wont get over 50!!I'll pedal real hard!

He had a trim a while back, think he is trying to save weight.
Cool sandwich holder, but won't the mayonnaise pour out of the holes?
I think we need an update?

the newer one in the foreground has a slightly higher top than the old one so Im going to chop alittle off the top to make the identical... onwards and upwards!
Oooh, I love the idea of those switches, anymore info on how your wiring them and are you going to use the original key barrel to that? Looking really good though :)

The brake conversion kit how is going with standart master cylinder? Is the pedal working from top or middle hen pressed? cheers LucasHi Lucas sorry but I'm not sure what you mean by this I will be using the standard one?
Looking really good, nice job on the interior paint
Success is moments away my friend ;D I hope your fitting seat cushions in those seat frames or your gonna get sores :D
Looks like you are finally getting there :thumbup What colour are you going for?

Stuey i'm now wondering if you could give me the measurements for this cross-member-ey thing? ive made the part in my CAD software but my measurements came from eye and a rushed 10 minutes laying under the car at college with a measuring tape... ::)
if its not do-able then dont worry, i may rapid prototype my design out of plastic first to see how far out my dimensions are
Ill do some measuring when i get a chance. Im not swapping the engine but plan on beefing up the transmission and driveline then putting a small supercharger on it.

Not sure how you would beef up a 126 gearbox or why you would want too when Smallcox runs 100+ hp through a standard box with a 5th gear conversion :)

Whats the main purpose for the car once its done?

;D FUN :D plain and simple- ill drive it on the road as much as possible and do some track days if its even remotely quick enough.

I was thinking an aisin amr300 with a Hif38 SU carb

Awesome! I have a similar plan myself.
What supercharger were you thinking? SC12 or something
Alan came out of the garage on his wheels for the first time in a while today nice to see him in the day light ...
Yes, yes, yes, that's all very well, and I agree the stance is superb, and do you think he's realised he's forgotten the door handles, and the front view does indeed look stunning, that I grant you, and the wheels are all right I suppose if you like that sort of thing, and rivetted rear side windows *are* a little bit different and certainly more secure at high speed, it's true, but for *goodness'* sake, never mind all this technical design flattery and stuff...
What I want to know is:
why is 'he' called Alan? ? ?
I love what you have done to the car!!!!! How does the car drive with the new front suspension?

heh heh indeed I always feel that the 126 is a little at odds with the modern world and doesnt give toss much like the protagonist in this cartoon from modern toss "bollocks to your BBQ yeah?"

That's looking great, should be on the road soon then. Finally got mine back on the road last week, still on standard front suspension. Have purchased front coilovers from Gaz, I just need to sort out the wishbones.
Cheers guys Im really trying hard to get it done- its been way too long!!!!
this week I replaced the front braided hoses as the old ones were crap! -

I tried to bleed the brakes and the front circuit wouldnt play ball, i removed master cylinder and fiddled with it and managed to getting pumping fluid so I put it back on the car and in the process buggered one of the threads for the pipes so now have to wait for a new master cylinder to arrive  more to come soon!
