Hope you are okay on both incidents. Trust the person that assaulted you got reprimanded. I hope it was not your new car that got into an accident in Devon!!

No it wasn't, i've ended up with a new car as a result of that shunt. But yes the gentleman involved in the assault got 'dealt with'  ;)

Anyhow, welding is finally booked in to be done. Phew. Thought i'd never see the day when this project would get started. Anyway, some more bits arrived today, with some more bits arriving shortly;

Shiny new sports suspension from Italy;

The dog is well happy because he has tons of new cardboard to play with!  ;D

Maybe it will mean 2 more 126's on the road in 2013 if yours and mine get finished?

Got to love those parcels turning up!!

Brand new 70's period numberplates specially made in Cornwall by Tippers vintage plates, just arrived.

Nice stuff Tom  :) Give those steel rear spring mounts a good coat of something before you fit them or they will rust very quickly. Just one question , is that rear number plate right for your 126 ?

Rusty, thanks. I did pull the spring seats out of the box and think to myself, 'they aren't going to last very long!  :o'

The square numberplate is correct, because its the earlier 70's model it has a different engine cover with space for the square plate. You got me worried so I have just been out to double check, but its correct. Good job because those plates were expensive!  :$

Kev, they were far too much but if you ordered a set of standard plates for your modern car and then double the price you wouldn't be far off!

No parcels today  :(

Judging from all the parts you have ordered, apart from the main body shell, almost every part in your 126 will brand new!! Love those period number plates.

Yeah, a lot of stuff will be new, but I am going to try and recondition the existing stub axels, rear trailing arms and stearing rods etc myself, otherwise the money will run away with me.

But I thought I should treat myself to some nice shiny bits  ;D

Glad to hear that the rear plate is OK . When I saw it I stuck my head out the door to check the back of my '81 car and of course they are the long ones. That set up is the same as the Fiat 500s  :)
