hi Ross, i think cheap oil is fine, as long as you replace it more regularly, wilkinsons own brand is great stuff, for flushing the engine clean.

Dave you sure you are not putting Swarfega in you said the oil is green?

Cleanest engine ever

When i was a YT the garage i worked in used nothing but duckhams hypergrade which was green (little odd i thought at the time) and there was nothing but praise for it!

None of our local auto factors stock it though

I think the prices are around the same as other good brands (castrol etc)
and try if somewhere like halfrauds could order some for you.

Another good oil is the millers classic range

i think castrol GTX is up there with duckhams classic........chris,use cheap oil if you want.........................in the long run it aint cheap mate.
Ross, millers classic is good also, but i dont have personal experience of it.

my choice is duckhams(£10.00ish 5 liters),i have used it since i was 17 yro sprog on all sorts of older cars, but,i do use a semi syinth in the rangy, and full syinth in the bikes.

Halfords 15/40 mineral oil is good stuff, it has a decent spec as good as castrol etc and isnt really that cheap anyway. I have used it for the past 7 years in my 126 with 1000 mile changes. Only use 20/50 in a 126 if its really using a lot of oil, even then I would try a 15/50 first.
