Andyzeetec it`s only an optical illusion ;D.

I`ve been working on a different set up the last couple of days. A slightly modified engine with a Panda 30 head and Weber 30 DIC. Managed to install it all yesterday and the engine seems to run pretty well. Unfortunately have problems with leaking push rod tubes which will be a pain to sort out.

Anyone else on here running a Panda 30 set up that can advise me on what push rod tube seals they used?

Hi!

I have instaled a Panda's head as well, sadly still no test drive and can't be sure if the silicone o-rings would hold the waterfall. The original ones (on the original engine) were like a piece of wood. The oil-dusty pasta was about a centimeter here and there.

I went with a pipe to a store specialized in gaskets and tried different sizes.

Unfortunately have not written the measurements down...

Kind regards!

Hi, I have a Panda 30 head fitted to my 126 engine in my Gamine. I used original 126 tubes, I cut and shaped the head to fit the original tinware, replacement 126 seals with with a smear of good quality silicone gasket seal. It's been running for 11 years without any leaks from the push rod tubes.

The good:

The bad:
Engine is not idling smoothly. When decelerating or crusing at a constant speed you can feel the engine... jumping? (best way I can describe it).

Almost tempted to swap it for a Renault 5 at times.

Wish mine ran smooth, AvB.

Did my monthly drive across Scotland and back (700 miles/1100 km) with a crunchy gearbox, no brakes and a jumpy engine.

Came back with an accelerator pedal that sticks. Another thing to fix.

I took my rusty, red car for a 187 mile round trip yesterday, a new 1 day record for me and it did not miss a beat! It's the third long trip it's done this week, 158 miles on Tuesday and 156 miles on Friday, that's 501 miles altogether! It's amazing what our cars are capable of! In fact its running better than ever as a result of being driven! Be sure to get some miles in while you can before winter sets in! It's the DeVilles turn next week, might see if I can get over 200 in a day!  8)
