Dave

Is this the part? My twin dellortos had two soft mounts joined together but I think these ones work in pairs.

Art code: M018
Elastic spacer
For Ø 40/40 carburettor

You have hit one of the problems of twin chokes on the aircooled, the carbs stick out a long way and the vibration soon does for the soft mounts – I'm not sure about what you can do to avoid it in the future.

thats the parts nigel.........however,they want bank transfer of funds=£35.00+postage of 40 euro+ the parts  ......im just not prepared to pay that much.
they will not take credit card or pop in the normal signed for post.

all ''normal'' suppliers seem to just stock the 'misab' style, too solid methinks....i can see the carb mounts cracking with those

well, carb on/carb off.............made a great top tin replacement to take the new linkage, and added a new version of the carb support id made, this one has a mini cotton reel rubber mount, only problem is-first one lasted 70 odd miles, second one failed today at 12 miles.........

i think im gna make somthin out of a valve spring or something next............

hey chris, did i?.....sorry if i did, anyway,im just in from the workshop with the prototype, using a bis inner valve spring cut down and  two sleeved valve spring top hats to cage it.......gna fab it up at work to moz.........

apart from the 40 dcoe's desire to part company with the motor, and a tendency for it to spit foamed fuel out of the bowl vent, its all going rather well................................ the 12 miles i achieved today were to the sound of the weber induction roar and the howl of my twin pulling 6k thro the big bore sport exhaust......magic................

ok........the inner valve spring idea looked fab......but,was not up to the job at all....the vibrations just overcame the spring.......anyhoo......i've now fab'd up a bis rear engine mount spring in its place......lets see how this goes!

yer the engine valve spring, was probably too rigid, the engine mount sounds better.

will you be using the engin mount rubbers too?

mmnn...well,bis mount kind-off works, but the alloy plate i fitted as a top panel is resonating,so,im laminating this to a 9mm malaysian ply panel............dont larf, remember mosquito airplanes??? timber/alloy and ply with two merlins nailed on...........good enough for 633 squadron=good enough for me!!

haha dave the ww2 survival rate in a 126 powered plane wouldnt be very good   imagine a bis engine! would be hard to change the headgasket during the first sortie

Stuey do you know anyone who has ever put a vw engine in a 126? Ive heard its been done but never seen it.

Trabant engines are used for those little fold up planes. So I don't see why a 126 wouldn't.

ok guys, road tested last night........still holding together, carb is know firmly attacthed to the motor!! less vibrating=improved fueling etc.
still a tad rich tho.see my other post about plugs

so the laminated idea is working so far, coupled with the complete spring/rubber bushes from an aircooled (the bis one was too high) the carb is mounted to this via a custom bracket and the central bolt gives full adjustment for the angle of the carb,so not putting any strain on the softmounts..........lets see how this goes...............

This is the final version i hope of the troublesome carb mount, its running well and holding together,but.....i have not painted or otherwise finished it, as im kind off expecting trouble again..........

update on the rubber spacers for the weber 40 carb, nanni stock them,as does turbo 1 sport, but nanni now also stock alloy ones with o ring inserts,i've just ordered some to see how they go.......the rubber ones seem ok at the mo,but i've never been keen on them.

What do you guys think to this.  How much extra power would this give me/would it fit without problems?

hi ya,well, you need a sport cam to go with this, and sport exhaust, also, the inlet manifold shown is for the panda twin port head,so you need that as well,(cut/replace studs etc) then you need to change the top tin of your motor to fit the panda head and accept a decent weber/dellorto throttle linkage..............then youll need to fab a decent carb mount to stop it falling off.........................................

if your serious buy it,then i'll give all the help i can,............ :D
