Practical Classics feature opportunity
« on: January 02, 2010, 09:24:38 PM »
Hi,

Hope you don't mind me invading your forum but I'm after some help. I'm putting together a feature on fun but affordable rear-engined cars for Practical Classics and would like to get a 126 along to the shoot. I'm afraid it's all a bit vague at the minute as far as details are concerned because I've also go to get an Imp, Beetle and Renault 8 there too but I have in mind a weekend at the end of January, location tba but Midlands/south I'd guess - depends on where the cars are based

Would anyone be interested in bringing their car along? I'm afraid photo shoots are a lot less glamorous than they probably appear and involve lots of standing around, but hopefully the chance to see your pride and joy in a good mag would be ample compensation.

Anyone fancy it? I was thinking of either a stock car or maybe a lightly tweaked example. I'm afraid I don't own a 126 but I did own a '70 500 a few years ago so I do know where you're all coming from!

Many thanks
Chris Chilton

i would but i am off the road at present doing stuff to my car but then again matt black wouldnt be the practical classics look this is a great oppertunity for the 126 to be showcased. do you want an aircooled or a bis or both as you state rear engined cars? would it be usefull to include both if available as a guide to the uneducated? tomasz is your car running? a quick nip across the fens could be yours?

Such a thing as Fiat 126p will never happen again to this planet... Love it.

I've got a mint watercooled 1990 126. Perhaps it is not old enough.

Just wanted to update everyone on the Practical Classics feature I'm trying to organise. PC were after an early car so I've accepted an offer from Daniel Toms to use his white 126. Many thanks to all who posted or emailed and offered cars/advice

Hi Chris, why not do a feature how the successor to the 500, the 126 evolved from the early 126 to the 126p and finally to the 126 Bis. Get the different 126s side by side in the photoshoot. Just a suggestion.

Best of luck Dan, hope you have a good day - even with your naughty black number plates!! </4
Don't take any lip about sewing machines or mowers!!!
I went to do the photo shoot for PC  'model profile' a few days ago. Had a really good day at Beaulieu - had the museum almost to myself for the duration. I still can't see how it can take so long to take a few snaps!
