Title: Will not start in the mornings
Post by: cider on May 15, 2018, 02:53:22 PM
Think I've  found my starting issues
What's best engine in or out for gasket replacement (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180515/b4a1d030c2cab21580e7bf11318b9f97.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180515/63dbab1906e17796d76bbef48bbfe2b8.jpg)

You can replace the bis gasket with the engine in situ the hardest part is removing the carb you need a short 10m spanner as is supplied in the standard tool kit, when mine went I used a tin of K-Seal gasket sealer which is still working in the system 🙂

Hi
Just replaced the carb for the 3rd time this weekend thinking the car had over fuelling problems.
So had a thought it maybe head gasket and managed to find a cheap endoscope camera on eBay, Just need to find the motivation

Although I didn’t like using gasket seal I always had it in my boot knowing that this was a common fault, it started spewing water out 100 miles away from home but seems to have done the trick while i get the motivation to do the job properly 😀 it’s about £8 on eBay and I recommend it to anyone that has a Bis to carry a bottle just in case👍
