thanks, Its one more thing off the list, Today I cabled up the clutch, re welded the accelerator pedal as it had snapped, put in the steering shaft and connected the wheel to the rack, just the wiring for the switches on the centre to do and connecting it all to the existing loom then I'm ready for exterior paint. I'm really pleased! (need to sort that steering wheel as well)

The wiring to the centre console is the last thing that needs to run through the car and since i had a little down time at work and a steady supply of electrical cable I thought I'd finish it up!

Hi Lucas I've had it for years and I don't even think the company that make it exists any more but it's just a alloy fuel cell so I'm sure you could get one that's very similar, you'd need to run an external fuel pump- I have a facet one I'm going to be using.

small update my gear knob is done- a recycled pump screw I borrowed from work-

this week I will be rebuilding the wiring loom, cleaning and refitting the engine (and building some sexy bbs for my z4 and another set to sell to partially finance the 126 repaint!

Hi Sorry I thought that fuel tank is made to take fuel pump fitted on top, but this is place for fuel filler (fuel cap on top) ?
In this case I have to convert standart 126 fuel tank to take pump in...
thanks

No problem Lucas- yes it is the fuel filler.

Today's work is wiring and wrapping the loom ready for the engine so I started buy re wrapping the rear loom-

From which I removed some stuff I won't need -

Which I've fitted In the car.
The. I've made a good start or the front loom-
[/URL
Which meant my pile of wire I won't use rose to this-

I now need to order a few dash tell lights and some switches to replace the dash pod ones then I can get the engine in and get it started ( first time in a while)

Tons more wiring to arse around with but I've managed to do a few bits-
Fitted a battery connection and starter cable-

A mounting for my dash tell lights which needs some finessing but goes in well-you can also see my abortive attempt to mount the lights in the dash which lead me to have to refill the dash and will have to paint it  >:(

Lastly I've put the tailgate latch pins in as I'm doing away with the solenoid mech as it was forever burning out-
