If you use disc-brakes, you have to fit another part to have a crispy breaking. My English might decrease with the technical terms, so: Sorry.
If you use the better effect of the disc-brakes, the leave spring tilts and twists in it's gum pillows. The wheels drift backwards, and the geometry is misplaced. It's like stepping into pudding.
I fixed a rod with two ball joints, one at each end, between the heart-pin of the leaf spring and the middle longitudinal beam. This prevents the leave spring from tilting, but allows it to do its job.
Hope, this was kind of understandable...

interesting mod- how long do you make the threaded rod?

I don't know this anymore. The ball joint sits between the two holes in the frame. But i have to say, that this is a '73 and the newer ones have different shaped frames.

aha, here we are. It's a newer one as the frame looks slightly different and has the plastic bumpers.

Looks like you could do the same, nothing some basic tools wouldnt sort.

as for the rod, i'm not sure but i'm pretty sure it'd be the same as anything else.

roobeh the pic you posted is also of a older aircooled, the plastic bumpers are the thinner type, not the newer bis ones, so its possible that this too is a 70s 126

andi i must ask but from what car did you take this picture of the leaf spring brace as there is an exhaust pipe in the front? (or thats what it looks like!!).

If you check out the 500 forum you will see guys there that have been running disc brake set ups  for longer than some of you guys have been born & without any catchy snatchy twiddley bits.
However if you are putting a few kegs more grunt into the pushing department , something way above a sports exhaust & a chrome rocker box cover then additional control may be useful . like the 850 which has a similar set up.

 I will be breaking my 125p soon(as the twinkie engine and the "Abarth" box in it is worth more than the car) Will try to give it a shot with the discs and calipers from the Polski.

Not a Webasto, did i say so? It's an Eberspächer. But i want to remove it, because i plan to install a 500 fueltank in the front, to extend the range. But i'm not yet sure how to connect the two fueltanks.
