Correct Tyre size for a '81 aircooled
« on: April 01, 2019, 09:10:50 AM »
So I've got a '81 De Ville

My tyres need replacing, currently has 135x80 r12 on the front and 145x70 r12 on the rear.

To me the rears look too large, should it have 135x80's all round?

Thanks
Simon

145/70R12 is pretty decent alternative to the original 135/80R12 or 135R12, and, in my subjective opinion, looks a lot better. 145/70 is 1cm lower in diameter. On other hand if 145/80, it is 1.5cm larger and it would look gigantic.
