2016/17 Calendars...?
« on: September 16, 2016, 06:37:54 PM »
Hi all,

Since last year was quite a success with Calendars, I'm willing to do another one this year.

Same applies as last year... If I get enough interest I will do some pricing up and see where it goes....

let me know if you think it could have been improved on last year :)

Sure, as long as drcdb15 doesn't follow through with his idea...

Next year, in the spirit of Calendar Girls, will we have "Calendar Cars", with the unclothed owners tastefully and decorously draped in, over and around their vehicles with discreetly placed wing mirrors or half-opened bonnets to cover the parts that other calendars cannot reach ?

Go for it Chris and use your artistic talents. The theme idea is good if you get enough suitable material  :)
ps not sure if a half opened bonnet is big enough for me  ;D

Gosh, what a lot of new members we seem to be getting these past few days!

What do others think of this idea: that we (that is, Chris L!!) seek calendar shots for 2017 from our newer recruits of their cars, which frequently it seems to me are at the early stages of being restored or just dug out of the barn or whatever. Last year's excellent production featured cars which by and large were show standard, all gleaming highly polished in the sun.

Why not for next year go to the other end of the spectrum, as it were, and feature some of the cars our members are hoping to save, and bring back to their former glory? For those who have completed this admirable journey, and whose blood sweat and tears have resulted in magnificently restored cars, there could be a before/after split shot.

Gadge's recent achievements with Luigi is an obvious contender here, but there must be others. I recall, for instance the green 126 form an Irish member that was heavily featured in the Irish classic car press. If I remember correctly, that rebuild was well-documented photographically.

And to give it an international flavour, how about including one of the Australian Nikis and AvB's brilliant yellow Cuban wannabe Pope-mobile? I'm sure our friends in mainland Europe can also contribute something too!

It's just an idea, and it might give encouragement through the year to those engaged on this journey who might face those occasional moments along the way that make us lose heart and wonder why on earth we engaged in the project in the first place.

I would like to buy a 2017 calendar if the price is similar to last year's. How many buyers would you need, and what would the price be?

Last year I sold 23 calendars and this year I've only got a definite 9 people.

It is more expensive to print only 10 than 25 calendars.

I can do the 10 at £9 each including P&P to UK mainland.

I'd need people emailing me with an order and also sending me the photos to [email protected]

If I get 10 people/orders for a calendar then I will set them up and get them ordered by the end of the week.
