I had noticed that on removing all the interior some of the 'tarmac' was starting to crack.
That is the 5mm black tar that covers the interior of a 126. I picked off a couple of bits and was amazed that is was still holding water. I have now started the laborious task of removing it all.
Behind the rear seat was first, that came away with a heat gun and scraper. Water was sitting in the ridges.
I have nearly finished the back parcel shelf. I needed to chisel the bits off in small chunks.
I assume the floor will be the worse.
I was wondering how much all this extra weight actually weighs. Has anyone weighed it?
Is this just sound insulation? it is certainly not to keep water out
If anyone has removed this, what method did you find best?
