Hello, in answer to the question, what did you do to your Fiat 126 today....... I drove it home from its MOT Test, and it passed without any problems. Last two MOTs had advisory about play in Offside Rear wheel bearing, but it must have put itself right, as not mentioned!

Not me, but the missus, took the beautiful green car to work to some random meeting, turned up and the chap sat next to her only has a yellow 1974 car in storage for the last 10 years!  Already made him an offer but apparently he's not up for selling...just shows though, there are more of our cars out there hidden away than we think...

The other day I was hearing a weird sound from my passenger front wheel.. It almost sounded like a bearing was grinding but it wasnt. After taking it apart and inspecting, my drum is warped! ??? I figure being a 1978 nothing has been touched before. So, I decided to go ahead and redo the whole brake system :P Today, 160 euro later I got new Drums, Slave Cylinder's, Master Cylinder, Shoes, and rubber lines!!!! Not a bad price I think for all them goodies! 8) This will be my project for Sunday!!!! ;D (does anybody know how much Dot 4 goes in this little beast?)

Changed the gearbox mounts yesterday. The old ones were barely hanging together. Loads better now and was very easy to do.

Just changed my quarter light, pretty easy to do if not a little nerve wracking at times.

Greased my King-pins.
Found out how to do this and wow what a difference - the steering is super light now. Recommend this easy job to everyone.
Somebody had fitted 3/8 inch 90 degree ones which are a pain so also ordered the correct metric ones to make this job even easier in future  ;D

Today, I replaced the rear engine mount spring and rubbers on the deville. The old ones were knackered as you can see. Also did some tidying under the bonnet, and some hammeriting to keep the rust at bay.

Also found that the pipes coming down from the front windscreen drain, were just hanging down under the battery and are too short. Any water would have just been dripping under the battery tray. One has been relocated, but the other needs to be extended. Another job for the list, I also finally found time to mow my lawn too!  :P.

Put a new exhaust on today, with new gaskets and the correct exhaust bolts which were missing.

Also replaced the old knackered horn which was embarrasing, and swapped it from a spare lucas horn I had lying around.

I stripped down a 500 and a 126 gearbox side by side to compare the inner gubbins. Some interesting similarities  :)
Rebuilt gearboxes look to be next step. 126 synchro box with Bis final drive & a standard 500 box.
