Today, I waxed and polished the 126 and changed the petrol filter as I noticed it was showing signs of debris in the filter on the underneath ...... Shockingly mucky once I got it off ..... Yuk !

Get a spare fuel filter, the tanks rust inside but still look fine outside. A new tank isn't much more than the fluid to coat the inside of the tank with. And you have to remove the tank to seal it anyway.

Pretty strait forward make sure there is no fuel in it, on to the ramps

Take the two hoses of the pump

And two more hose clips, one on the filler and one on the breather

Three nuts to hold the tank on
fiats forever

Anyone have a full list of the parts that are needed for this job and a suggestion where to get them all ?

Assume it'll be new tank, new tank neck rubber and new hoses... how many metres ???

I got my tank through axle gerstl, just fuel line (6mm I think), tank and sender gasket should be all you need. Check 126 fan and axle gerstl to see which is cheapest.
The hardest bit was reattaching the filler and breather pipes, found out after that you get better access through the interior side panel.

Drove mine today - as it is my main (and only!) car :P

But recently blown up the tyres, checked the brake fluid, put on a dust cap that had been nicked, and inspected my bodywork. Tomorrow I'm driving back to Uni which is a 70 mile trip, so will top up the water. Can't wait for a relaxing Sunday drive, the weather forecast looks good!
