Title: Fiat 126 Project by Da Londo
Post by: Da Londo on August 13, 2012, 12:16:12 AM
I was thinking I should share some pictures and info from my blog.

So, this is my 126 as I got it last year, it's an '85 model and quite clean and good at first sight.

I drove it home without much problems, just a 25km drive, it was November so and the sun was going under when I was coming home, I needed a quick drive because the headlights did not work, so I punched it not knowing what the engine was actually like. Made it home without any trouble but I did hear some noises going over speedbumps etc. Sounded like some bolts were not tightend.

I parked the car and the next day it would start but not run, when at tickover it would just stop. Found out the float cracked, maybe the heat after years of standing in a garage did it.

I already knew those wheels weren't gonna stay on the car but I found them too ugly to look at. When I took the wheels of I noticed the bolts weren't tightened  :o I drove home like that, actually I found more bits and pieces of which the bolts and nuts are quite loose, so the noises when driving home are accounted for, partly, it actually sounded as if the shocks or swingarms or whatever aren't tightened, will investigate at some point. A previous owner was a car mechanic I found out.

I find it to be a bit high in front, will need a lowering spring.

Got the roof lining out and it will stay out.

Engine and engine bay needs attention too.
