FIAT 126 Seat covers - New covers being made any interest?

Hi

I was having a chat with a 2CV roof & seat specialist at the weekend, and mentioned that there wasn't much in the way available for the 126.

I've given him a spare seat set to make some patterns up against and he is looking to find out if there is any interest out there if he produces some tailored seat covers for the 126.

Having seen the quality of his work on the 2CV seats and roofs I can recommend him. Would any 126 owners be interested in some decently made seat covers and door card  material?

He is trying to gauge if there is a demand out there so take a look at his site and see what you think. He could probably make a 500 or 126 roof too and he has a wide variety of materials and colours.

I bought a 2CV roof from him in 1999 and it is still on the car now and looks just as good as it did then. I've just bought another roof for my current 2CV resto project and look the FIAT 126 seat along expecting that he would say no. He's interested however and is now making some patterns up.

I am absolutely interested as it was something I was looking into having done myself but don't know where to start. I know seat covers are available from axel gersil however these I think are for the 500 and may not fit snug.

From what I've been advised the seat frames on a 500 are different so 500 covers probably won't fit right (bit like the carpets).

Also apparently 500 seat frames are a bit rocking horse with more and more 500 owners resorting to fitting 126 seats so maybe this might be of interest with the 500 crowd (don't know)?

Anyone got any contacts in that area who can sound them out?

I have a set of rear seat covers I think... but I do need a headlining! I have my warped/dirty/sagging one out of the car at the moment and not sure I can unwarp it... cleaning of the material and restretching it doesn't seem too difficult though!

Really needed can't find them anywhere only 500 ones which don't fit very well, I've seen his roofs as we had many 2cvs, really good quality

I'll probably have to take the plunge and get some covers made up so that you can see.

Going to go and discuss materials with Matt. Any thoughts on what sort of materials we should consider from the serious 126 enthusiasts?
