New MOT Charges being introduced soon
« on: August 13, 2005, 11:43:08 PM »
There are some new changes coming into force soon. Which will mean the end of the free mot re-test. The mot fee is also being increased to around ?40 and if the car fails you have to forkout another ?40 for a retest.

I don't know when it's coming in but it's bad news yet again for the British motorist  :(  :(

Also at present the person doing your MOT can use discretion. Soon everything tested like brakes, lights, emmisions will go straight to Swansea computer which wont have discretion. So now if your 126 has a slightly low brake reading the tester could say Ill pass it but advise new shoes etc, soon it will def fail and you will have another ?40 to pay. I hate this government with a passion.

Dont we all! Money money money this government!, we cant even drive into our capital now!!!    I saw some old pics on TV of london, everyone was parked up beside trafalga!!!! i couldnt believe it was London!

If labour realised how ecomical, how enviromentaly friendly 126's are and how much less space they take up, we wouldnt need the congestion charge! I think the MOT thing is to keep in the good books of EU??

Our government should buy the FSM factory and start building again! we should start up a campaign

I honestly think that the vehicle size should be based into the equation for vehicle tax!
It makes a lot of sense, more parking spaces, more economic, less congestion etc, etc

Paul I suppose the one advantage of us overhere having the toughest MOT in Europe means we know our cars are set to a very high standard. The flip side to means the tester can't fail the car unnessecarily like they used to. I have to admit I've had less cars fail since the new testing equipment was fitted.
