Apart of engine not running (famous problem without solution) I did quite a few other bits in a mean time. So apart of alligning steering column and puting new break fluid + bleeding car is more or less in one piece again. Of course there is a pleanty of small bits like new handles, screws and bits to be done but this should be ready for Uxbridge.... If ENGINE WILL KINDLY START  :P

Thanks for a kind word - it is realy going slow and expensive now :)

Small update: I fitted originaly old new stock from 1972 - yellow spot lights in chrome casings and long awaiting abarth arches. Tasty thing even if it wasn't wasy to fit due to arches actualy not being perfectly shaped. But we did it wit Michael and effect pleased me 100 %  [-/

Thank you, I am pleased :D hell lot of work so far. Today I did sort steering column as it was jamming permanently - fault was in a ignition barrel as the tooth which blocks steeringwheel when key out was broken. So I did block the tooth inside barrel and problrm is gone.
As I didn't manage to get hold of double chimney coil I painted and fitted these two singles :) :) :) looks great. Is there any risk btw to drive it like this?? Works superb, coils cold even after good few minutes.
Plus I finaly sorted its original mirror and put it back having some washer cut out of old tube for an old tyre :)
All in all I really have a chance to go to Uxbridge show now, we will see as still few bits to do.

Hi Jan,

Been thinking about our double coil bit there, and yes we got the car to run however long term i don't know what the implications will be. Surely a double chimney coil will have similar requirements to our double coil set-up.
I'd chance it for a while, the only thing is take a spare set of points and condeser with you.
Have you run it much since we fired it up?
Did the local parts boys not have a double coil like mine?

Hope to see you sunday [-/

No coil in the area :( well, didn't even have a time to order one. Even if I would - I want to know WHY these two wasted spark one doesn't work on this one!!! They should 100%... grrr.
If Michael will be so kind tomorrow to come over for a second and help with brakes bleeding I might be tempted to go to Uxbridge.

I'd have popped across if I could, if i were closer , unfortunately i have to drive a car that looks like a frog (renault megane) to take my wife and mother in law to see her daughter tomorrow

Sometimes a shortcut is to place the hose off the beed nipple into some old brake fluid, pump and the idea is it cannot draw back any air. Might mean you can get some brakes so as to make the final bleed quicker.

There's also a slef-bleeder available where one pumps nice fresh fluid back through the system from the nipple.

I have been told i should have one for my xs11, but always managed to get-away without one, watch the reservoir if you get one though, it fills-up!

I'll be up bright and early tomorrow to sort my 500 so that I will have enough time to come over and fix your brakes as well, so you owe me one! I should have an extra pair of hands with me too.
