1995 el restoration
« on: June 17, 2017, 05:03:41 AM »
Hi folks, I bought this a year ago and have been driving around in it without any issues.

I did a disc brake conversion, a steering rack conversion and stuck on a reverse eye spring along with some new wheels.

Aside the fact that it's 10 shades of red I knew the car would need some work. I know it would sail through another polish MOT but I decided to remove the plastic wheel arch liners to see what lay in wait. Unsurprisingly both ends of the front inner wings on both sides have holes, along with the trailing end of the rear inner arches.

By the time I'd finished poking with a big screwdriver I have about a dozen holes in all the usual places that needing repaired. Here is how it sits as of today.

I'd best dust off the welder and I feel a change of colour coming on. Not sure if I’m going to go for chrome or P4 bumpers yet. Wish me luck!

Cheers

Marc
