Fiat 126 nos are now one more
« on: May 26, 2012, 08:25:43 PM »
I have got the 1983 126 'brown' car I bought from Colin back on the road, passing its MOT with no advisorys.
So thats one more 126 back to full health. Tee Hee
Will be keeping it as a spare run-around.

Apparently so. Its says so on the v5.
It has head rests etc. Not too sure what else a brown should have.
Why you ask? :-)

Well done. It is always great news to know another 126 has sprung to life. There is hope yet for many other 126s that are eternally on SORN. There is or was an auction on ebay for two 126 Bis on SORN being sold as a pair with a very low starting bid.

Welcome !!!!

The, 'is it a real brown'? question is because I joint a Polish 126 forum recently, and posted a picture of my 'brown'

I was straight away informed it was not a brown as it is :-

a) Not Brown
b) wrong bumpers
c)no rubbing strips
d) too new

But they did say I have the correct seats for a brown. Then informed me I have an FL.

The bumpers I changed for chrome, the rubbing strips I removed. I have changed the interior for vynil.

Hi all
It seems that mine has the 'brown' interia but is dark blue in colour looking at the pics above. So I still dont know but dont really care too much. I guess its a totally standard air cooled car elsewhere. Mystery as it says 126 'brown' on v5  :-)

Now I recognize the car.

It was for sale for a crazy price and caused a bit of a war.

Yes I know all that. But is it a brown? Hang on. I dont really care. Its a good clean car that I have spent about £300-400 getting it a mot with a few new/old bits, add purchase price £550 and I have a 2nd fun car for about a grand = I am well chuffed.

I think some of them were registered as Brown even when they weren`t.
I had two browns and they were both kind of a cream colour with the brown interior.
