I've used Peter D James on my 1200 Beetle, they have been easy to deal with & It's easy to get a quick on-line quote. I paid £79 comp with a 1500 mile limit, garaged. It includes legal aid & breakdown cover.

Still having trouble with the insurance  :(

It seems most of the quoted companies in this thread will not insure under 25's on a Classic policy, those that do require a clean record. So i think i'll have buy a normal policy at a stupidly expensive price. I have 3 speeding points and one write off (cost £4700) any more ideas?

Makes you laugh, £15,000 Abarth 500 with 135 HP, no worries, something that i will do 3000 miles a year in worth £1000 with 26 HP, no chance!  ???

My son is 18 and has been quoted, wait for it, £3,500.  How are kids suppoised to get on the road. Even if I insure it with him as a named driver they are looking for £1,400.

Bardy, which company are you insured with, I will give them a go.  It could be a post code lottery though.

This is utter madness! I think my dearest quote was almost £3000 too! Imagine in America, a 16 year old can probably get insured on "dad's" 4.0 litre Mustang, whereas a 0.7 litre Fiat in this country for a 17 year old....

Might just pay for a normal non classic policy, 3rd party is £200 for me, what do you think? (still sounds dear to me)
