looks like a fuel cell - will that fit into the front boot, or have you taken out the back seats fro a full racing jobbie?

I have a cell similar to this in my ute. Couple of things to watch out for. My cell is 55 ltrs and needed an external surge tank to stop fuel starvation when the level was low, even with the inbuilt pan for the fuel outlet/s as it appears yours has. Fuel tends to slosh about heaps in these tanks (no internal baffles) so foam filling it cured that. I also had to use one of the top outlets as a breather into a charcoal canister (rego laws).

Also, what are you going to do about a fuel gauge? My solution was to drill the tank to accept a "float level" style sender. I think there is better stuff out there now though.

Serious stuff indeed.   How tricky is that operation - getting it all lined up right etc?  I have never done anything so drastic although the repairs I have tackled have sometimes gotten reasonably intricate and in awkward spots/ upside down etc.
